Xiaomi released Redmi 8, the sequel to Redmi 7 in India last week. The new device came after the Chinese smartphone manufacturer introduced the Redmi 8A as an entry-level device. With the Redmi 8, Xiaomi focuses on two key elements of the smartphone: battery and camera.

The device features an eight-core Snapdragon 439 processor that is identical to the Redmi 8A. The smartphone comes with a P2i coating that makes it durable and uses MIUI. It has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, an 18 W fast-charged 5000 mAh battery and a USB C-Type port. The box will only have a 10 W charger.

During the festival season, Xiaomi sold 3.8 million smartphones through Mi.com, Flipkart and Amazon India. Redmi Note 7 Series, Redmi 7 and Redmi 7A models dominated the sale.
