Xbox boss Phil Spencer admitted defeat too early in the next generation battles. Microsoft will not announce Series X and S sales this year.
New generation game consoles Series X and PS5 were put on the technical market After the sale of both consoles in the American market, eyes turned to sales figures. The Xbox side, which was defeated in the past generation, was expected to break the devil’s leg in this generation. However, this again seems not possible.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer admitted defeat too early in the next-generation battles. Microsoft has stated that they will not announce the Series X and S sales this year.
Phil Spencer in an interview with The Guardian; “I know this seems manipulative, and I apologize for that. However, I don’t want my team to focus on console sales. The primary outcome of all the work we do is how many players we see and how often they play. This is what drives the Xbox. If I start to emphasize something else, both publicly and internally, it changes our focus. Things that lack backwards compatibility become less interesting. Putting our games on PC is becoming one reason someone doesn’t need to go and buy an Xbox Series X. I will quickly hug this. We make the player numbers public. It does not matter how many consoles we sell, but how many players we earn. That’s why we will not reveal console sales. ” said.
We can say that it was quite unfortunate that this announcement came by Microsoft. Because with this statement, defeat seems to be accepted directly. In the UK, 19 percent of the games sold this week before the PS5 was even available for sale belonged to the PS5. Even this figure clearly shows that there is no interest in Xbox.
