Software giant Microsoft has updated its Windows 10 taskbar for users to keep up with the weather and current news in a practical way.
Announced in April, a new taskbar feature for Windows 10 called “News and Interests” is now available with the KB5001391 update of the operating system.
Available for Windows 10 2004 and 20H2, the new feature consists of a news feed integrated directly into the taskbar, allowing you to learn the latest news, weather and temperature without going to the browser. According to Microsoft, the news will come from more than 4,500 sources, such as the BBC, CNN and Fox News.
However, it was noted that this function is not available to everyone. Most likely in the coming weeks, the company will activate this function remotely for more devices. This slow update allows Microsoft to track any errors it encounters. At the same time, if you do not need such a news widget, you can easily disable it directly from the taskbar by right-clicking and selecting the appropriate item.
However, if you are not sure about turning this feature off, you can also customize it. For example, by clicking on a specific story, you can choose whether you want to see more or less similar content in the future. You can also hide various news and news sources.
