It turns out that Twitter is working on a tip feature that allows users to send money to each other. Here are screenshots of the feature that will launch a new era on Twitter:
It has emerged that the popular social media platform Twitter is working on a new feature that allows users to send money to each other. With the launch of the new feature, called “Type Jar”, i.e. tip box, it will be possible to officially make money from Twitter through different payment tools.
Twitter monetization period begins
It had previously emerged that Twitter was working on the tip box feature on its audio-based platform Spaces. The social media giant even confirmed this in a written statement. However, it seems that the tip feature will not be limited to Twitter Spaces. Because screenshots shared by reverse engineering expert Jane Manchun Wong revealed that tip boxes will also be placed in user profiles.
With the tip button placed next to the Edit profile button, users will be able to pay through some popular payment services such as Bandcamp, Patreon, PayPal, Venmo, and Cash App. Thus, followers will be able to provide financial support to their favorite creators.
In addition to its tip box feature, Twitter is testing another paid service called Super Follow. With Super Follow, creators will be allowed to create content specific to paid memberships, just like YouTube.
