Tone Detector now on mobile

The Tone Detector app, which arrived in browsers such as Chrome, Edge and Firefox in 2019, is now also used in mobile operating systems. The app helps users with clearer emails, messages, and social media posts. For example, by tapping the green “G” icon on your Grammarly keyboard, you’ll be able to tell whether the text is written in formal or sincere language.

Tone Detector forms the basis of the Grammarly Online Editor program.

Tone Detector understands the emotion in the writing

When you have an urgent job, you may have trouble expressing your feelings via text or private message. That’s why Grammarly’s iOS and Android keyboard now has the brand’s handy Tone Sensor.

Tone Editor can understand how the article is written to readers. For this purpose, it analyzes factors such as sentence structure, word selection and punctuation. However, this feature works, provided that your text is not too short. Therefore, the feature does not come into play when writing short text messages. Therefore, the longer your messages, the easier the system perceives your emotions.

Tone Keyboard helps users improve their tone, clarity, grammar, and vocabulary when typing any piece of text. The application analyzes the user’s typing tone with the artificial intelligence in it. In this way, it offers you various suggestions to convey your message to readers in the emotion you want.

On the other hand, you should not keep your text too short. Only text with a length of 150 characters or more has detection. This is due to the difficulty of understanding emotions in texts that are too short. Therefore, the longer the text, the more emotions are revealed. You can find the developer team’s tweet post about the introduction of this feature.

To start using Tone Editor, you need to update grammarly keyboard (Android and iOS) to the latest version. The new feature is available for all free and premium Grammarly users.
