Ram consumption on Android devices is quite high. Although manufacturers are working on this feature, even new updates cannot solve this problem. But recently Chinese manufacturers began to develop different methods to solve this problem in their interfaces. While Vivo is already using memory expansion technology on its devices, now a similar situation will happen on Xiaomi.
Developers have discovered a new feature in the MIUI interface called memory expansion. This feature aims to increase ram capacity by swapping low RAM phones with internal memory.
Vivo introduced the OrigonOS interface to its smartphones a few months ago. This interface offers major changes in visual effects, while at the same time significantly reducing RAM consumption. The company has developed a new algorithm to reduce this consumption. This algorithm uses the phone’s memory for RAM to prevent the device from freezing and contracting problems. Now the same feature comes to Xiaomi phones.
A developer named Kacper Skrzypek discovered the memory expansion function in the MIUI interface. This feature, which is expected to come to Xiaomi users in beta soon; As with Vivo, it will allow you to use phone memory as RAM.
For example, you have a phone with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. With memory expansion technology, this capacity is 8 GB of RAM and can be up to 11 GB. The same goes for the 12+256 GB model. In this version, you can also make 12 GB of RAM equivalent to 15 GB.
This innovation, which Xiaomi is currently developing, will come to the MIUI interface in the coming days. This will increase the speed of your low-equipped phones. However, it is not known at this time whether the feature is being tested for MIUI 12.5 or MIUI 13. We expect the company to make the necessary announcement soon.
