Market research company SensorTower announced the most downloaded mobile apps worldwide in March 2021. Accordingly, the short video app TikTok topped the list; Similar platforms such as Josh and Moj have attracted attention with their rapid rise.
Another highlight of the list was social communication platforms. During the pandemic period, applications such as Zoom came to the fore as many people around the world went into voluntary quarantine at home. According to SensorTower data, TikTok leads the non-game apps category with more than 58 million downloads. While 11 percent of the platform’s users are in China; The United States follows with 10 percent.
The second most uploaded mobile app of the past month is Facebook. The company received more than 56 million downloads during that period. About 25 percent of that came from India alone. The top five of the list were completed by three apps, also owned by Facebook. Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger, respectively, have become popular apps.
