Ming-Chi Kuo, known for its reliable analysis, expects the AirPods Max to be the lowest-selling headset of all AirPods products. Kuo predicts fewer than 1 million AirPods Max shipments in 2021.
TFI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who previously presented his analysis of AirPods 3, recently shared his analysis of airpods max. According to reports, The AirPods Max, Apple’s premium over-ear headset, will not be able to generate significant revenue for the company due to its sales volumes.
“It will not reach 1 million units in 2021”
Kuo, known for its reliable analysis, shared many of its analyses related to AirPods products in its reports. The third-generation AirPods, expected to go on sale this month, are not expected to arrive before the third quarter of this year, he said.
By sharing its analysis of Apple’s over-ear headphones, Kuo expects the AirPods Max to account for no more than 1% of all AirPods sales in 2021. Predicting that shipments of AirPods reached in 2020 will fall to 78 million units this year, the analyst argues that airpods max sales will not exceed 1 million for this reason.
Kuo sees the high price tag of the AirPods Max as the biggest reason for the small number of sales. According to some previously uncovered leaked information, Apple plans to introduce a cheaper version of the AirPods Max along with the AirPods 3. The cheaper version of the AirPods Max, which is expected to be completely plastic according to leaks, will come with a lower price tag of about $150.
