When Kaz Hirai took office, he explained his mission: “to ensure that Sony continues to be a company that inspires the soul of customers, stimulates them emotionally and responds to their interests”. God of War, The Last of Us, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and many more popular productions are the product of Kaz Hirai’s vision.
A source told Variety that Hirai’s decision to step down was partly due to the deterioration of his travel programs as CEO over the last 6 years. Now Kaz Hirai plans to spend more time with his family at his home in California.
