The coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic has changed a lot of things that we have become accustomed to in the last two years. Especially physical activities are now returning online. The annual MWC (Mobile World Congress) event will host new technologies this year. But South Korean manufacturer Samsung will not be physically involved in this event.
Samsung will not attend the Mobile World Congress in Spain, according to a statement by Reuters. The company cited the health and safety of its customers as its reasons.
The MWC 2021 event will probably start in mid-June. However, the growing number of cases has already led many companies to withdraw from the event. Sony, Google, and several other companies, for example, have announced that they will not participate in MWC 2021 due to the pandemic. He then stated that he agreed with others at Samsung and would only be involved remotely in the event.
The Mobile World Congress, which will take place in Barcelona, Spain, will be organized by the GSM Association. The association also canceled its event last year due to the pandemic. Although it struggled to the end, manufacturers did not participate in the MWC 2020 event face-to-face. It’s probably going to be the same scenario this year. Because many manufacturers have already announced that they will not physically participate in this event, but will carry it out remotely online.
At this time, it is not known which products Samsung will introduce online at MWC. However, we expect the company to make an official announcement in a few weeks.
