Samsung must have begun to remember the past recently, releasing updates for its old devices. Recently, we shared with you that the Galaxy S7 has received a new update. The fact that the old flagship, which still has millions of users, received updates, made the users very happy. The Android Security Patch, which protects Android devices against current threats, was released this time for the Galaxy Tab S2.
Galaxy Tab S2 updated after years
This model, which was launched in 2015 and was described as the flagship in its period, has not been updated for a long time. The users had given up on the device whose Android version remained as 6.0. Although the Android version of the device has not changed, the Android Security Patch version was updated to October 2020. Fortunately, a five-year-old tablet received an update while the Galaxy Tab S7 is currently on sale.
To install the update, you have to enter the settings and click the “System Updates” tab in the “About Device” section.
Last month, the update for the Galaxy S7 was released, attracting some attention from those who were considering buying a new smartphone. Update support is one of the issues to be considered when purchasing a technological device today. Even if your device’s performance is good, the old Android version will allow you to access fewer applications over time. Even if the Android version remains the same, updates that bring security improvements make our devices more secure.
Samsung seems to have received a plus from users with the security patch updates it gave to its old models. What do you think about this situation?
