Sony shared more details from the PlayStation 5’s voice chat report system.
PlayStation 5 users will be able to report verbal abuse they experience during voice chat.
20 seconds of the main talk with the other player and an additional 10 seconds before and after the speech, along with a 40-second audio clip will be recorded and sent to Sony and action will be taken if deemed necessary. You will be able to use conversations made in the last five minutes.
With the release of PlayStation 4’s new system software update version 8.00, the warning message “voice chats can be recorded and sent to us by other users” made PlayStation 4 users a bit alarmed.
Sony noted that users did not record group chats themselves and did not listen to them unless reported, and initially apologized to the players for not providing a clearer explanation. This warning message has been added to PlayStation 4 as cross-gen chat will be supported between PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
