Prototype of first-generation iPod revealed

Celebrating its twentieth birthday, a never-before-seen prototype of the iPod has emerged. Comment from the inventor of the iPod was not delayed.

Cabel Sasser from the Panic blog revealed a first-generation iPod prototype that no one has seen before, which could be extremely special. Although this rare prototype belongs to the end of the product’s development cycle, it is quite large and yellow compared to the sold version of the original iPod.

Explaining that it is a prototype from September 3, 2001, Cabel Sasser points out that this iPod runs its signature version and has a small scroll wheel in the upper left corner of the screen.

The color of this prototype, which has a very small screen compared to the case, is not clear. However, it is thought that it may be light gray or white and may have turned yellow in the intervening 20 years.

Tony Fadell, the inventor of the iPod, tweeted a little more about the iPod, explaining that it was called the P68/Dulcimer and that this prototype was designed to hide the final design.
