Android users in the U.S. will soon have access to betting and gambling apps through the Play Store, Google announced Thursday. Effective March 1, the permit will cover online casino games, sports betting, lotteries and daily fantasy sports apps in certain states.
Google says it’s allowing it from its support page
“We allow real money gambling apps, real-money gambling-related advertising, and daily fantasy sports apps that meet certain requirements,” Google said in an announcement from its support page.
In addition, app developers must fill out an application form before the app can be allowed in the Play Store. In addition, the application covered by the permit must comply with the laws of the state and country in which it is used, as well as have a gambling license that applies to each state or country it wants to work with.
At the same time, apps are not available to minors and cannot be sold for a fee on Google Play.
Finally, gambling and betting applications are also available in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Romania, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
