A 4G and 5G variant for the Oppo A74 is known to be on the way. A fairly significant leak a few days ago offered plenty of details about the 4G A74 or model number CPH2219. Some leaks have also emerged about the Oppo A75 5G.
Some of the highlights include a Snapdragon 633 chipset with 6GB of RAM, a 48MP main unit and a triple rear camera setup consisting of two 2MP macros and depth sensors. There’s also a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and an inch-screen fingerprint scanner. We already knew that the 5G variant of the Oppo A74 (CPH2197) would replace the Snapdragon 480 5G chipset thanks to the latest GeekBench list. Beyond that, it was thought that there would be no feature changes. But we have a real live pre-order page for an anonymous whistleblower Oppo A74 5G, along with specifications and pictures. It appears that the A74 5G will replace the AMOLED panel with a 90Hz LCD. Instead of the usual 6.43 for the regular Oppo A74, the retailer lists its diagonal as 6.5 inches. However, this is thought to be due to a rounding error of some types. Because otherwise, we would be looking at two even more distinctly different devices that don’t even share the same body.
The minimum resolution will be 2400 x 1080 pixels. It seems to confirm the transition to an LCD panel for the 5G variant, it will also have a side-mounted fingerprint reader instead of an in-screen location. With the four cameras on the back of the Oppo A74 5G, the camera setup is also clearly different. News of the leak mentions an extra 8MP camera, probably and ultra-wide, above the 48MP main and two 2MP units. 6GB of RAM is an unchanging feature from 4G to 5G model. A 3.5 mm audio jack also appears in one of the product pictures. Finally, the JB HI-FI retailer in charge of the list has set a demand price of $449 for the phone. Pre-orders are now online and the release date is officially April 13.
