MSI Announces Console Mode for Gaming Monitors

Console Mode supported on certain ultra-wide-angle MSI monitors looks like a different scaling method.

If you remember, we reported that the PlayStation 5 does not support native 1440p (QHD) resolution. However, Sony has stated that 1440p support will be offered to the players if the demands increase.

This means that even if you use a 1440p screen, you can get 1080p (Full HD) resolution output. MSI, one of the monitor manufacturers, says it has provided a new solution in this regard.

MSI has designed a special Console Mode that can automatically detect 4K signals on a 1440p monitor and simultaneously support HDR. We don’t know how this feature works in practice, but MSI claims that the new mode will provide a good gaming experience.

The MPG ARTYMIS 343CQR model with 1000R curved structure and AI (artificial intelligence) will be released in December and will offer support for Console Mode. You can also see the full list of monitors that support this mode right below. Finally, let’s underline that all monitors have ultra wide angle panels.
