Microsoft has announced several new accessories for PCs. The new products include a USB-C speaker and a webcam.
Microsoft has two new headphones – the Modern USB Headset and the Modern Wireless Headset. As the name suggests, one is wired, the other wireless. Both come in black, have radiating microphones and speakers with 28 mm voice coils.
The wired version has a USB-A port and a sequential remote with buttons for volume control, a microphone mute button, and a Microsoft Teams button for easy installation and management.
The wireless version has similar buttons on the headphones, but volume control is via an adjustable right headset. There’s also a status light that indicates whether the microphone is muted or not. Battery life is up to 50 hours (30 hours with voice search in Microsoft Teams), according to Microsoft.
The wired version works with Windows and macOS devices and costs $49.99, while the wireless version offers support for Android and iOS and sells for $99.99.
The Microsoft Modern USB-C Speaker is designed for meeting rooms or use scenarios with multiple people in teams. It connects via USB-C and features the same buttons as the headset’s wired remote.
The speaker has a 50mm full drive and two versatile microphones. It is covered in black fabric and has a 68-centimeter cable. The advanced USB-C speaker is compatible with Windows and macOS devices. It is priced at $99.99.
The modern webcam also comes in black. With HDR and True Look, you can record high-quality videos and it also has autofocus. The camera can record at 1080p and has a 78° field of view. There is also a privacy cover that you can put over the lens when it is not in use. It can be connected to your monitor, laptop, or a tripod. It connects to your device via a USB-A cable. Microsoft has put a $69.99 price tag on the webcam and it, along with other accessories, will go on sale in June.
