Lenovo closed last year as the leader in general computer market analysis, including tablets. Apple, on the other hand, moved up to second place with the iPad effect. The market is on the rise overall.
As interest in computer systems increased due to the pandemic process, many sectors encountered growth that they did not expect. Lenovo is the leader in the overall computer systems market, including tablet sales.
Leader in general
Lenovo, which sold 28.8 million computer systems in the last quarter of last year, maintained its lead, according to Canalys, which published its latest market analysis, including tablets. That’s a 40 percent increase from last year.
Apple, on the other hand, sold 26.4 million computers and grew 42 percent with the merger of the two categories. IPad sales in particular were particularly influential during this period. HP placed third with sales of 19.3 million units. Samsung also sold 11.5 million computers. Overall, the market increased by 35 percent with 143 million sales.
When we look at the 2020 total, Lenovo has 87 million sales. Apple sold 81.4 million units, while HP sold 67.8 million. Overall, the market grew by 17 percent. Tablet and Chromebook models increased sales the most throughout 2020. 160 million tablets were sold and 30 million Chromebooks were sold. Although there are not many sales in our country, the Chromebook market is growing steadily.
Since the tablet factor has a significant effect in these tables, it is not possible to see laptop and computer sales clearly. We can say that 268 million computers were sold with a rough calculation. Especially on the tabletop side, there was a decrease compared to the previous year. Sales of laptops and tablets are on the rise.
