It has been learned that old smartphones and tablets running with the Android operating system will be unable to open approximately one third of the websites on the Internet as of next year.

According to the news of Android Police, old smartphones and tablets running Android operating system will be unable to open approximately one third of the websites on the internet as of next year.

The news was based on the fact that browsers and operating systems on devices cannot work with compatible sites and services without the SSL / TLS certificate offered by Let’s Encrypt since September 2021. This situation covers approximately 30 percent of the world’s Internet resources.

It was stated that all devices with Android 7.1.1 and earlier operating systems will be affected by this situation, in other words, smart devices that have not been updated since 2016 will be in the risk group.

According to the report, it is possible to solve this problem by installing a Mozilla Firefox browser that has the ability to keep root certificates on a smartphone or tablet, but the application in question is only supported by devices with Android 5.0 and above operating systems.
