The new version of the iOS operating system, iOS 15, has been announced. So what will change with the update? Here are the features that come with iOS 15 and the phones that will get updates:
The day has come when iPhone users are eagerly awaiting, and the new version of the iOS operating system, iOS 15, was introduced at WWDC 21, which is held online. Here’s iOS 15 with many new feature destinations, from redesigned lock screen notifications to iMessage that increasingly resembles WhatsApp!
Spatial audio has been added to the app to make FaceTime calls more natural and realistic. Thus, a meeting is offered as if in the same environment. However, machine learning-assisted noise cancellation prevents unwanted sounds from being transmitted to the other party.
Other innovations added to FaceTime include the ability to schedule FaceTime calls, perform FaceTime conversations on Android and Windows devices, share screens, and listen to music and watch movies with people in the conversation, and blur the aka plan, just like Zoom and Google Meet.
The iMessage app has also gained new features in the union with iOS 15. So much so that the links and photos you share with the person you’re messaging are automatically added to the Apple News and photos app with a feature called “Shared With You”. When do not disturb mode is activated, it now appears as a status in iMessage as well. This alerts the person who sent the message if a message is sent to someone who put their phone in do not disturb mode.
One of the innovations that comes with iOS 15 is in the notification wing. The design has become more understandable thanks to renewed notification tabs, larger app icons and avatars.
Another innovation with notifications comes as a scheduling option for notification summaries. Accordingly, iPhone users will be able to receive notification summaries in bulk at any time they set.
iOS 15 offers users much more options for notification management. So much so that users can determine who and which apps will receive notifications based on their current situation (for example, when they are awake, working, sleeping, driving, etc.). Moreover, these settings are also synced with other Apple devices.
Photos and camera
With iOS 15, the camera and photos app can now detect text in an image. Thus, iPhone users will be able to easily select the text in photos without the need for a third-party app. Another development regarding photos is that Spotlight searches have been made more functional to include photos.
