Lay’s, one of the biggest chips marks from Frito Lay, is on the agenda with an interesting YouTube Chrome plugin. With the pandemic, the increasing number of YouTube views all over the world has mobilized the famous company. According to this, “I missed the video while eating chips” will end.
Lay’s has developed an add-on that shows YouTube video while eating chips
Lay’s, the Vietnamese agency he worked with, developed an interesting YouTube plugin, along with the idea from Happiness Saigon. According to this, the agency noticed that people missed important places while watching YouTube videos.
According to this research, the crunching sound of eating chips can cause us to miss a significant part of the video.
Here the famous brand of chips has created a Chrome plugin that understands this crunch and adds subtitles to the video at that moment. This plugin, “Crispy Subtitles from Lay’s”, was unveiled a week ago on Happiness Saigon’s YouTube page.

But how was this interesting plugin developed? For Lay’s YouTube Chrome plugin, the developer team has collected chips-eating sounds from around the world.
Collecting these audio recordings for a total of 178 hours, the team developed an AI that detects these sounds. According to the developer team, people all over the world have a different chewing sound. That’s why developers collected audio samples from each region to detect these local differences.
When you activate this fun and interesting plugin, it detects that video is opening on YouTube. The plugin, which instantly analyzes the rustling of eating chips while watching the video, adds subtitles to the video. Thus, the plugin prevents you from missing out on what is described in the video. You can add the add-on to your browser from this link.
