Huawei is now the largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. For many years, taking second and third places, the technology giant, which managed to overtake Samsung, will not be able to maintain this success due to the US embargo.
Huawei is seriously reducing phone production!
Huawei, which managed to recover itself by quickly developing alternatives to Google services, took another big blow after TSMC stopped production of Kirin processors due to the US embargo. While negotiations with companies continue to solve the supply problem on the processor side, it is stated that the company will seriously reduce its phone production in 2021.
According to the report, Huawei plans to release about 50 million smartphones in 2021. For comparison, last year the number of phones supplied by Huawei reached 240 million. So there will be a 74 percent decrease.
The main reason for the reduction in production is the United States. The situation was complicated by US sanctions, which made the company almost impossible to produce phones. Recently, the US government tightened restrictions, imposed new sanctions against Huawei and dozens of subsidiaries. He forbade him to buy an ion kit from Qualcomm or MediaTek.
