Huawei also shared why in its HarmonyOS presentation yesterday, stating that its operating system works faster than Android and iOS.
As part of yesterday’s HarmonyOS announcement, Huawei announced that its operating system has a significant advantage over iOS and Android. As mentioned, HarmonyOS lose its uptime, neither overtime nor with the increase in the number of applications and files.
In terms of the system user interface, HarmonyOS is adopting a new method of user interface interaction, including a unified control center and HarmonyOS desktop. In terms of the underlying system, HarmonyOS is heavily optimized, claiming a 42% performance boost and more power savings.
Therefore, on devices running HarmonyOS after 36 months of use, the sequential read speed of flash memory is 4.5%, the sequential write speed is 0.9%, and random read/write drops are less than 5%. By comparison, the same cycle on iOS devices is down by at least 20%. On Android devices, this decrease was indicated to be greater.
