The Starship interplanetary transport system consists of two stages: a boston-pulse rocket called Super Heavy and a Starship spacecraft, which will contain astronauts/movers. The Starship ship is not able to reach the moon and Mars alone, so a Super Heavy launch vehicle is used to deliver Starship to space. Super Heavy and Starship will include 31 and 6 Raptor engines, respectively.
SpaceX began testing the first Starship samples last year. But the current test samples can rise only 150 meters, so they are far from the final design. SpaceX conducted a test flight to test more Raptor engines.
The first Super Heavy prototype will be created shortly. The Saturn V supersonic rocket, which will be twice as powerful as the most powerful in history, will play a key role in humankind’s achievement of Mars. The Super Heavy also has three times the power of the most powerful Falcon Heavy rocket today.
The Super Heavy and Starship Raptor engine is about three times more powerful than the Merlin engines now used on the Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy. It has about 250 tons of momentum. The engine for reuse in SpaceX receives power from liquid methane and liquid oxygen. According to the SpaceX authorities, Raptor is fully designed taking into account interplanetary travel.
