Motorola, which is etched in memory with its Atrix 4G smartphone, will now start offering a desktop experience again. The Motorola Edge Plus is equipped with the Ready For update.
In the smartphone world, solutions where the likes of Samsung and Huawei can project desktop-style mirroring to external screens come to the fore, but the pioneer of this work goes much further back. The Motorola Atrix 4G laptop accessory was a thing of the past, but Motorola is back on the train.
What is Motorola Ready For?
When needed, it became increasingly prominent to perform transactions in a larger area by projecting the smartphone’s screen onto external screens. Samsung and Huawei provided this to many models, while Motorola took action.
The feature, announced as Motorola Ready For, is available on the Motorola Edge Plus with the Android 11 update. When connected to external displays via USB Type-C or HDMI, the feature starts to reflect a window-based interface. A mouse and keyboard can also be connected to the phone.
For now, the Ready For feature will be exclusive to the Verizon operator and the Motorola Edge Plus. Motorola has not yet announced whether it will bring this feature to other phones, but Amazon will release a dock soon. In this respect, we can predict that the feature will spread to more models.
