Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg, the most criticized name of the 737 Max crisis, was fired. David Calhoun will replace Muilenburg.

Dennis Muilenburg, CEO of Boeing, one of the most controversial companies of recent years, was formally dismissed. Muilenburg, who has been the leader of the company since 2015, has been one of the most criticized figures of recent times because of the controversial moves in the 737 Max crisis.

According to Boeing, David Calhoun, who currently serves as chairman of the board, will become the company’s new CEO. Calhoun will be appointed on January 13, 2020. Boeing will work with his new CEO to restore the trust of his customers, the public and federal officials.

Boeing’s ‘737 Max 8’ aircraft were involved in two different accidents in Indonesia and Ethiopia last year, resulting in the deaths of 346 people. Boeing, 103 years after the accident faced the biggest crisis in history. The company’s shares fell by 22% in the process. In addition, a total of 8 billion dollars of material loss occurred.

Ethiopia then won in Turkey, China, Ethiopia, Great Britain, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Austria in many countries, among them, 737 Max aircraft type have ceased operations temporarily, and had closed their airspace to these flights.

Boeing recently announced that it will temporarily halt the production of 737 Max aircraft in a statement earlier this month. Worldwide, over 700 737 Max aircrafts are currently docked.
