Taiwanese technology company Asus will unveil its highly anticipated Asus Zenfone 8 flagship on May 12. Many leaks about this phone have been raised many times. However, the company gave its users the good news by announcing a feature that had never been mentioned before.
According to Asus, Zenfone 8 will have a feature not found in previous models. The company’s new flagship will come for the first time with IP68 water and dust resistance certification.
Asus announced in its teaser today that its new flagship Asus Zenfone 8 will be water and dust resistant. The company’s former flagships lacked this feature due to its structure. However, Asus has switched to a new design with Zenfone 8, and for the first time, it will also feature IP68 certification on a flagship phone.
Zenfone 8, which has this certificate; will be water-resistant at a depth of 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. At the same time, the device; will also be able to resist dust, dirt, and sand. Of course, smartphone manufacturers do not claim that their devices never pass water. Even models who receive this certificate sometimes have news that they pass water in various places, such as the sea. Therefore, users should not take advantage of the IP68 feature and deliberately put their phones in the water. Because bringing this feature to their phones is to prevent a possible water impact.
In terms of features, Asus Zenfone 8 will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset. Currently powering many flagships, this chipset exceeds all expectations, especially when it comes to performance.
Asus’ new flagship, on the other hand, will feature a display with a high refresh rate. Although there is currently no definitive information on the screen side, sources claim that there will be a screen of at least 120Hz. It is also leaked that this screen will have a perforated design.
