Apple is now buying fewer companies

Over the years, Apple, which often buys new ventures to incorporate new technologies, has started to tighten its belt for the last 1 year. The firm wants to focus on dividends.

The pandemic era and the global inflation crisis that ensued are pushing tech giants to economically tighten their belts. Apple, which has bought plenty of small startups in years past, is now putting the brakes on it.

Apple has been known for incorporating countless small startups into its roster, including Beats, for years. Competitive technologies such as the Siri digital assistant and Face ID biometric solution have shown up in the company’s catalog.

In the fiscal year 2020 (October 2019-September 2020), the company paid 1.5 billion dollars for its initiatives. In the financial year 2021, this figure was only 33 million dollars. After October 2021, a total of $169 million was made in the 9-month process.

Although Apple announces financial statements above expectations, it intends to pay a little more attention to spending during times of crisis. On the other hand, the fact that the regulatory bodies were more sensitive has caused the firm to step back. In the coming period, however, Tim Cook indicated that he would continue his pursuits.
