Paris Saint Germain star Angel Di Maria was shocked to hear that his home had been burglarised and his family taken hostage during the Nantes match.
At Paris Saint Germain, who beat Nantes 2-1 in a French Ligue 1 match, a report during the match stunned everyone. Argentine footballer Angel Di Maria left the field in a hurry when he learned that thieves had taken his family hostage.
PSG Sporting Director Leonardo came to the bench after a phone call during the second half and had a brief meeting with manager Mauricio Pochettino. Di Maria was then replaced by Leandro Parades in the 62nd minute.
PSG Manager Pochettino walked with his player to the dressing room and said something to Di Maria’s ear, who was in tears. French media reported that Di Maria’s paris home had been robbed and he was removed from the game because of a larger problem.
It was learned that Di Maria’s family members were at home at the time of the robbery and that some people were taken hostage. However, a later statement said the safe in the house had been completely emptied and no one in the family had been harmed. Di Maria’s teammates were informed after the match and were shocked by the situation. French media say the home of another PSG footballer, Marquinhos, has also been robbed.
