Developed in partnership with Sony Pictures-PlayStation Productions, Uncharted’s new director was Travis Knight, who we know from Bumblebee and Kubo.
The long-running director crisis of PlayStation Productions’ highly anticipated Uncharted adaptation is finally over. According to the news reported by Deadline, the film’s director, Travis Knight, will sit in the seat. Travis Knight is the third director with whom Sony has made a deal for Uncharted.
As you know, Uncharted adaptation is going through a very turbulent development process. Sony had previously signed with Shawn Levy and Dan Trachtenberg to direct the film. However, both directors parted ways with Sony due to some disagreements. Shortly after Trachtenberg’s departure, Sony Pictures has now signed with Bumblebee’s famous director Travis Knight.
The 23-year-old actor Tom Holland will play Nathan Drake in Uncharted. Earlier statements said that Uncharted would tell Nathan Drake about his youth. As you know in Uncharted 3 and Uncharted 4, there were some episodes about Drake’s youth.
The Uncharted adaptation will be released on December 25, 2020. There is nothing formalized yet about the film’s cast, except for Tom Holland.
