Black Man is out in 2022
Noting the billboards in a statement on Twitter, The Rock said, “The destructive and unstoppable global power of a message from the man in black himself. Black Man arrives on July 29, 2022. The hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is about to change.” The film was originally scheduled for release in December 2022. That’s why the movie’s going to be almost half a year late.
The release date for the superhero film came shortly after news broke that Pierce Brosnan, best known for the 007 James Bond films, would star as Kent Nelson in the project. Meanwhile, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone and Aldis Hodge as Hawkman. Finally, it’s worth noting that Marwan Kenzari will also play a mysterious role.
“We start shooting the film in April,” said hiram Garcia, a producer for the film, which is expected to begin shooting in April. Atlanta’s in Georgia, we’ll be away from home. We’re really excited about this. Everything has accelerated so much.” Filming was postponed to a later date due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
As a story, the character of Black Man is a former Egyptian named Teth-Adam, who was chosen by Shazam as his successor. He was later sued by DC for being too much like Superman. When Marvel acquired the copyright to the name Captain Marvel, Black Man switched to DC Comics.
