The Grammy-nominated musician will join Daniel Craig in the film.
The sequel to Knives Out will feature Grammy-nominated musician Janelle Monáe, who has been praised by critics for several films, including Moonlight and the Amazon Prime series Homecoming.
Monáe will join Daniel Craig, Dave Bautista and Edward Norton in Rian Johnson’s detective series, Deadline reported.
Craig reprises his role as detective Benoit Blanc, while Bautista, Norton, and Monáe sign on for roles that have not yet been announced. Johnson will return to writing and directing the sequel to the mystery/adventure film.
Netflix has paid more than $400 million for Knives Out 2 to be released on its platform. Johnson has said in the past that the sequel to The Knives Was Pulled will revolve around a new cast and a new mystery.
Deadline reported that filming for the film, details of which are confidential, will begin in Greece this summer. Which brings to mind the question, “Could Blanc be traveling overseas for her new mystery?”
