US rapper and actor DMX has died in hospital after suffering a heart attack. Relatives described the famous rapper as “a warrior who fought to the end.”
DMX, one of rap music’s most famous names in the U.S., has died at the age of 50. The rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was taken to a New York hospital after suffering a heart attack and was said to be in a serious condition.
DMX, which has been reported in the US media to be in a vegetative state for the past few days, has been confirmed by relatives and family who died earlier this evening.
“Earl was a warrior who fought to the end,” relatives said of Simmons’ death. His legacy will live on forever.”
Simmons was nominated for a Grammy Award and was awarded the American Music Award twice.
