A car bomb attack in Afghanistan’s Logar province has reportedly killed 30 people, according to preliminary reports.
Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Aryen told the media that a car bomb attack took place in the central city of Pul-i Alem at around 7 p.m. local time.
At least 30 people were killed in the attack, Aryen said, adding that more than 90 others were wounded.
Logar Provincial Shura President Hasibullah Stanikzey said the attack took place outside a guesthouse belonging to the tribal leader.
Stanikzey said he was concerned about the increased number of casualties.
The force of the blast also caused serious damage to surrounding homes and businesses, while search and rescue efforts were launched for people trapped under the rubble.
No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
