China’s ‘Long March 5b’ rocket is out of control and will land on Earth. Experts have warned that this could lead to a catastrophe.
A warning has been issued for China’s ‘Long March 5b’ rocket, which it has launched into orbit.
Astronomer Jonathan McDowell told SpaceNews that the rocket spun out of control and could fall outside the planned safe zone.
Long March 5b was scheduled to land at a predetermined point in the ocean. But experts warn that large chunks could fall into residential areas after the rocket spins out of control.
Scientists warn that many people could lose their lives if these fragments hit residential areas.
Cities such as New York, Madrid, and Beijing are at risk.
IT WILL BE THE ONLY STATION IN SPACE AFTER 2024
China fired the rocket as part of a space station project it began building in orbit.
Space already includes the International Space Station, where the United States, Canada, Japan, Russia, and European countries work together.
However, the International Space Station’s mission will end in 2024. The Chinese Space Station will be the only space station in orbit after 2024.
When the station, which will consist of a core module, two laboratory modules, and a space telescope, is completed, it will be approximately the same size as Russia’s no longer active Mir Space Station.
Following the “Tienhı” module, laboratory modules named “Vıntien” and “Mıngtien” will be launched into space in 2022.
Following the formation of the main skeleton, the space telescope “Şüntiyen” will be added to the station as a separate module in the following years.
