Thousands of Palestinians held morning prayers at the Masjid al-Aqsa mosque in east Jerusalem’s Old City. After the prayers, Palestinians demonstrated in the courtyard of the Masjid al-Aqsa.
After the demonstration, many Palestinians stood guard at the Masjid al-Aqsa mosque to prevent fanatical Jews from storming.
The Palestinians barricaded themselves in some parts of the Harem-i Sharif with the wood and similar things they found. Palestinians, who said they would not leave the Harem-i Sharif, often chanted “Our lives are sacrificed to you, Aqsa.”
Israeli police intervened with Palestinians waiting at the Harem-i Sharif to prevent fanatical Jews from storming the Masjid al-Aqsa mosque in occupied East Jerusalem.
Images posted on social media showed blood-freezing moments in the area. A video posted on Twitter showed an Israeli settler driving his vehicle over Palestinians and running over one person. The same footage also showed the moment Israeli police secured the aggressive driver.
The Red Cross has stated developments in the region. Accordingly, more than 300 people were injured, some seriously, in Israeli police attacks at the Masjid al-Aqsa. Seven of the injured are in serious condition, Al Jazeera reported.
According to the same report, Israeli forces in the area prevented ambulance crews from going to the Masjid al-Aqsa. The Israeli military radio broadcast said 21 Israeli soldiers were wounded as a whole.
Meanwhile, in recent minutes, Israeli forces have withdrawn from the compound at the Masjid al-Aqsa mosque, allowing Palestinians trapped inside to leave. A group of Palestinians then left the area and began clearing the square.
There were embarrassing scenes again this morning during the incidents, which were reignited by the harsh intervention of the Israeli police. The image of Mary smiling as she was detained quickly went viral on social media.
