“That’s how my heart feels,” Hadid said, posting photos of herself at the time of the protest on her social media account. To be around such a beautiful, intelligent, respectful, loving, kind, and generous Palestinian… It feels whole! We’re a rare breed! Free Palestine until Palestine is free!”

Hadid, who posted a photo of her grandparents when they married in Palestine in 1941, said her father, Mohammed Hadid, was one of the family’s eight children, and in 1948 the entire family had to defect first to Syria, then to Lebanon and Tunisia.

Hadid noted:

“I love my family, I love my heritage, I love Palestine. I will stand strong to keep in my heart the hopes for a better country. I wish for a better world for our people and the people around them. They can never erase our history. History is history!”

Hadid, who also posted a photo of herself from a Palestinian protest four years ago, said, “Please read and educate yourself. It’s not a matter of religion. It’s not like someone’s spewing hate at the other. This is Israel’s colonialism, ethnic cleansing, military occupation, and years of racism against the Palestinian people.”
