The number of covid-19 cases per day in India has reached its highest level since the beginning of the outbreak. There have been 131,968 new cases in the country in the last 24 hours.
The number of daily cases in India, which is among the countries most affected by the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, has risen to its highest level since the beginning of the outbreak.
According to India’s Health Ministry, 131,968 new cases have been detected in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 13,60,542.
This is the highest daily increase in cases since the first case of Covid-19 was seen in the country on January 30, 2020.
The death toll in India, where 780 people have died from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, has risen to 167,642.
979,608 people are being treated in the country, where the number of people recovering from the virus has reached 11,913,292.
According to the “Worldometers” website, which compiles Covid-19 data, India is “the 3rd country in the world with the highest number of cases and the 4th highest number of deaths due to the virus”.
Nearly half of the cases detected in India in the last day (56,289 cases) were seen in the state of Maharashtra. A curfew was imposed in the state between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. local time on weekends and weekdays.
A curfew was imposed between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. while 7,437 new cases were detected in and around the capital, New Delhi. The ban is scheduled to last until April 30.
Meanwhile, in Karnataka province, where the number of cases is rising rapidly and 6,570 cases have been seen, curfews will be imposed in 6 cities starting tomorrow at 22.00-05.00. The ban is expected to last until April 20.
MORE THAN 3 MILLION VACCINES IN 24 HOURS
The country, whose population is approaching 1.4 billion, is running a widespread vaccination campaign against the disease.
India’s Ministry of Health reported that 3,691,511 doses of vaccines have been administered in the last 24 hours. Thus, the number of vaccines administered in the country reached 94,334,262.
According to the “Ourworldindata.org” website, which compiles Covid-19 vaccination data, India is “the 3rd most vaccinated country in the world”, behind the United States and China.
