You no longer need a Live Gold subscription to play free online games on

There’s been a slight change to Xbox Live Gold membership, which allows you to play online games for a set monthly fee. You can find the details in our news.

As you know, Microsoft has a subscription service for Xbox owners called Xbox Live Gold. Thanks to this service, you could play online modes or online games of games at a certain monthly cost mix and add several different games per month to your free library. But there’s been a slight change.

As Microsoft has already explained, you no longer need an Xbox Live Gold membership to play free online games. You can download and play the game directly from the store.

Currently, more than 50 games in the store, including games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, Rocket League, Roblox, and Destiny 2, can be played without requiring a Live Gold subscription. This support will also apply to free online games that will be released in the future. You can find all the free online games here.

Microsoft has announced in recent months that it will remove the Xbox Live Gold system, but there has been a strong backlash from players. Microsoft then reversed its decision and announced that free online games would not require an Xbox Live Gold subscription.
