In the 1920s, the fictional is located in the city of Oakmont, Massachusetts. The story focuses on private detective and war veteran Charles W. Reed as he explores the cause of the horrific visions that follow him and the mystery of Oakmont’s endless floods.
The Sinking City was released on June 27, 2019 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The same year, the Nintendo Switch is scheduled to be released.
The Sinking City is an open-world detective with a third-party perspective. It has a clear search system in which the outcome of the player’s quests will often be defined by how careful the players are when searching for different clues and pieces of evidence.
The town of Oakmont consists of seven affected areas (Advent, Coverside, Grimhaven Bay, Oldgrove, Reed Heights, Salvation Harbor and The Shells). The player uses a boat to safely cross the underwater streets to reach more wetlands.
