GTA Online’s loading times can be frustrating. Some players wait for dozens of minutes. A mod developer nicknamed T0st had developed a mode that shortened the loading time of GTA Online by 70 percent. The player received a thank you from the company.
1,984,531,500 items are loaded when entering GTA Online. Trying to load so many items means that dozens of minutes pass through the loading screen. The length of the load times was due to the JSON file. The processor writes the information of more than 1 billion items into the JSON file one by one. Because this is between the server and your own computer, you experience a long-running installation screen. Thanks to the mode developed by T0st, only 63,000 items are included in the JSON file at the first opening.
Rockstar Games officially plays T0st’s mode
Rockstar Games was expected to impose a sanction on players using this mode. Contrary to popular belief, Rockstar Games thanked T0st for the mode it developed and said they would officially add it to the game.
Rockstar Games said in a statement: “Following extensive research, we can confirm that the player (t0st) has developed some of the game code that can be optimized for loading times for the PC version of GTA Online. As a result of this improved mode, we have made some changes to the upcoming update.”
Rockstar Games did not specify when the update would be. In addition, t0st stated that the loading time was reduced by 70 percent with the mode it developed. Rockstar Games has not yet confirmed this installation time. Finally, Rockstar Games said it was in contact with T0st and thanked him.
