Resident Evil 7 sets a sales record

“Resident Evil 7” became the best-selling game in the series, leaving behind “Resident Evil 5” based on a sales record. Behind the success of the game are technical details.

“Resident Evil 7” became the best-selling game in the series with a circulation of 7.9 million copies on PC and Xbox One, and “Monster Hunter World” (16.1 million copies) took second place in the ranking of the best-selling Capcom games. However, judging by some technical details behind the numbers, the game may not be second in sales.

According to Gamespot, Capcom has more than 1 million copies in its catalogs with platinum headings, which allows us to watch the best-selling games. But in every game everything changes. Due to the fact that the sales numbers of Resident Evil include DLC, the numbers of which are unknown. Unlike other games in the series, the game did not matter that much.

Technically, this gives us the conclusion that Resident Evil 4 and 6 are lagging behind console sales. However, if an updated version of the game appears on the next generation console, the state may change. Capcom, which does not announce the cost of selling games not exceeding 1 million.

Recall that the Resident Evil Remake version also sold 7.2 million copies, PS sales amounted to 4.9 million copies, Nintendo 64 and Gamecube – 1 million copies.
