Rainbow Six Siege occasionally offers events to its players. The developer team, which does not want to offer gameplay that stays the same all the time, publishes events on different themes. Today’s event also offers a fun game in the post-apocalyptic concept.
New Rainbow Six Siege event: Apocalypse
Apocalypse mode, which will be available for a limited time, takes place long after today. After humanity destroys all the plants in the world, there’s only one left. You need to protect the plant, the last hope of earth’s life, against the attackers. The match will determine who gets the plant, the key to ending a 100-year drought.
Despite this theme, the plant will act as a bomb. As in classic game modes, attackers will try to access the bomb. But in this mode the location of the plant does not have to remain constant, you can move it even after the attackers have located it. Which makes it difficult for the attackers.
However, you cannot use every operator in the activity. Only the following operators will be selectable:
With this list, the fight between the two teams will be limited to 10 operators. The event also brought costumes for operators on this list. More futuristic costumes can be removed from event-specific alpha packages. If you don’t trust your luck, you can buy any costume you want in the store as a single.
Having an Outback map at the event isn’t a thrilling detail. This map was removed from the game’s ranked mode. Players instantly banned outback when they came to the map ban screen in ranked mode. The reason for this was very clear: the map is unstable. In the future, the map may be balanced and re-ranked.
The Rainbow Six Siege Apocalypse event begins today and runs until May 18. If you want to play something different just as it’s about to close, I suggest you give this mode a chance.
