According to the latest unofficial data shared, the PlayStation 5 sold twice as much as Xbox Series in the first three months of 2021. The Switch has sold more than the two consoles combined.
Microsoft’s and Sony’s next-generation gaming console has been on the market for about 7 months. Unfortunately, both consoles are short of stock. That’s why both companies have sold all the consoles they have. As stocks are replenished, they quickly run out again. The latest data also offers a slightly deeper review of consoles’ sales numbers.
PlayStation 5 sales in the first quarter of 2021 have doubled the Xbox Series, according to the latest data from Ampere Analysis. According to Ampere Analysis, 1.31 million Xbox Series were sold in the first quarter of the year, while the PlayStation 5 sold 2.83 million units. That’s more than double what it does.
The PlayStation 5 was supported by other data. Unfortunately, nothing clear can ever be said because Microsoft has not disclosed the official sales numbers of the Xbox. The other thing that interests the data is that the Nintendo Switch sold more than any console in the first quarter of 2021. It’s quite remarkable that the Switch sold 4.72 million units, more than the PS5 and Xbox Series combined.
