One of the Red Dead Online paid mode menus has been disabled following a series of bans that have hit users. The decision was one of the toughest measures RockstarGames has taken against cheaters in the Red Dead community.
The mode allowed red dead online to create treasure chests containing gold bars, the premium currency. This allowed players to create an infinite number of treasure maps and collector’s items. Earlier this month, the studio began banning, suspending, and deleting accounts that use the mode menu. The creators of the mode initially thought about reactivating it but had to back down after seeing more users banned from the game due to the mode.
Red Dead Online players sentenced to different penalties
Players using the mode menu reported that they were banned from GTA forums, both Discord, and Reddit, and their characters were deleted. On the other hand, the penalties may vary. Some players said they had been suspended for 30 days, while others reported being permanently suspended from the game.
Since its arrival on the PC platform in late 2019, Red Dead Online has had many problems due to its mode menu. One of the biggest examples of this was the mode that contained messages against George Floyd, who was killed by police in the US last year. After all this, Rockstar wanted to avoid the problems by reducing the lobby dimensions.
The studio experienced similar problems on GTA Online and closed the mode menu at the end of negotiations with Take-Two. Now it’s a question of whether such a decision will be made for the game, which has a Wild West theme.
