Amazon Mexico accidentally unveiled the Nintendo Switch Pro.
As noticed by Twitter user @Alphabeat and handled by discount tracker @Wario64, Amazon Mexico may have listed Nintendo’s rumored upgraded new Switch Pro model. The list was a placeholder, and no other details were specified by Amazon other than the name. The entry was withdrawn by Amazon shortly after detection, but as always the internet does not forget and it was possible to take a screenshot from the cached Amazon page. Below you can find the screenshot.
It remains to be seen whether this product is real or just some kind of bad joke, but the fact that the page has already been removed can say something about its legitimacy.
Yesterday, Bloomberg and Eurogamer reported that sources familiar with the matter had heard that Nintendo would soon announce an upgraded Switch model ahead of this year’s digital E3 event. “I understand that this is to enable third parties working on games that support the upgraded Switch to announce these projects at E3, before Nintendo’s digital presentation,” Eurogamer wrote following Bloomberg’s report.
Nintendo Switch Pro Price
The new Nintendo Switch ‘Pro’ is said to be sold with the Switch Lite, with the gradual decommissioning of the original model. Exact details of its pricing have not been released, but it is expected to sell for more than the current $299 model.
Rumors about a new Switch 4K model have been emerging for quite some time, but to date, Nintendo has said that it has “no plans” to release a new model at this time. If the latest rumors are true, Nintendo plans to release the new Switch later this year with upgraded hardware and a 720p OLED display. As reported, the new model will be able to upgrade to 4K resolution through NVIDIA’s DLSS upgrade technology in built-in mode.
The original Nintendo Switch was re-released in March 2017, and the Switch Lite was released in September 2019.
