As the case between Apple and Epic Games continued, documents related to the lawsuit revealed that Fortnite’s biggest revenue was from PlayStation.
As you know since last year, a Fortnite-based lawsuit is underway between Apple and Epic Games. The trial process has been going on for some time and doesn’t look like it’s going to be over anytime soon. Recently, a document related to the case was revealed and interesting information emerged.
According to official documents used in the lawsuit, PlayStation is the platform where Epic Games generates the most revenue from Fortnite. Between March 2018 and July 2020, 46.8% of Fortnite’s total revenue comes from PlayStation 4. In second place is the Xbox One with 27%. We can say that these ratios show us why Sony and Epic Games have been good recently.
Interestingly, only 7% of Fortnite’s revenue comes from iOS devices. Of course, the fact that the game has not been available on iOS for almost a year has reduced this rate considerably. However, contrary to popular belief, the fact that iOS generates quite a few revenues is surprising.
Epic Games tried to get rid of Apple’s 30% share of the games, and Apple removed the game from the store. Epic Games then sued Apple. Fortnite is currently available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, PC, Switch, and Android devices.
