Square Enix has announced Endwalker, the new expansion of its massive multiplayer online role-playing game Final Fantasy XIV.
It will be released this fall for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC and Mac.
Square Enix has just announced a PlayStation 5 version of the game. Support for 4K resolution will offer fast load times, greatly improved frame rate, and other graphical improvements. The PlayStation 5 version open beta will begin on April 13, the same date as the release of the 5.5 season to existing platforms, and the full version will be released shortly.
Endwalker has a lot of new content. The level limit will increase from 80 to 90. New regions and cities will be added waiting to be explored, including Thavnair, Radz-At-Ham and Garlemald. Two new character classes are on their way. One of them is Sage, which can improve and protect the health of other characters on the team. The second is the DPS-focused close combat class. In addition, the eight-player Raid mission pandaemonium will come with a new feature called Island Sanctuary, which will include farming gameplay elements, and more with expansion.
The Hydaelyn and Zodiark story will reach its climax in the expansion, where Warriors of Light will face a major disaster on its journey to the far corners of Hydaelyn and the Moon. Endwalker will end the story that began with A Realm Reborn and set the stage for brand new adventures. Final Fantasy XIV director Naoki Yoshida has confirmed that he will continue to work on the game.
