According to a Bloomberg report, executives of CYBERPUNK 2077, CD Projekt’s latest game with major problems, will earn millions of dollars as a bonus for the game.
Cyberpunk 2077, published and developed by CD Projekt Red, was released in December 2020. But as you know, the game came out with big problems and unfortunately disappointed a lot of players. It seems that this problematic output will not affect CD Projekt executives financially.
CD Projekt CEOs Marcin Iwinski and Adam Kicinski will receive a $6.3 million per person bonus for Cyberpunk 2077, according to a Bloomberg report. Adam Badowski, the game’s director and board member, will receive a $4.2 million bonus. These numbers were calculated based on the company’s estimated annual revenue for 2020, which is recently released.
CD Projekt’s revenue for 2020 was $562 million, which was a record for the company. Apart from the large bonuses that managers receive, regular employees will receive a bonus ranging from $5,000 to $9,000. More senior employees will receive bonuses of more than $20,000.
The total bonus received by five executives is $28 million, according to an employee at the company. He also said 865 employees received bonuses totaling $29.8 million. That means the average employee gets a $34,000 bonus. In short, although the troubled exit of Cyberpunk 2077 has broken trust in the company, executives and employees have made very good money. We hope they’ve learned the gib lessons the CDPR said and regain their old reputation.
