The sale of Codemasters, which made a name for itself with productions such as Dirt and F1, to EA for $1.2 billion has been approved by shareholders.

Last January, we stated that Electronic Arts had signed an agreement to buy Codemasters. There has been another significant development today regarding this purchase agreement, which has marked the gaming industry. With today’s development, Codemasters shareholders have approved this sale of $1.2 billion.

EA, which has long been in fierce competition with Take Two, which owns giant gaming studios such as Rockstar Games to buy Codemasters, eventually prevailed. Accordingly, 63 of Codemasters’ 76 shareholders accepted EA’s $1.2 billion offer. With the approval of the board, the next step for the takeover was taken.

A new meeting between the two companies will take place on February 16th. Codemasters, the producer of dirt, F1 and Grid legends, is expected to officially go under the umbrella of EA in the first quarter of the year.
